Welcome to my blog on how to protect your privacy

Welcome. Your browser tells me that you are in and your unique internet protocol (IP) address is which is enough data for governments and corporations to track your every move online. You should hide this information by using a VPN.

Governments around the world are selling out their people and their visitors by abandoning freedom and privacy in favour of wide scale online surveillance.

The premise is always the same; the governments need to protect us from the ever present threat of terrorists and other dangerous criminals.

But terrorists and on-line criminals know how to protect themselves from this surveillance.  The simplest and most effective privacy for online terrorists and criminals is the dark internet and Tor browser.  The U.S. National Security Agency (NSA) describes the free Tor anonymity network and browser as “the king of high-secure, low-latency Internet anonymity” with “no contenders for the throne in waiting“.  Unfortunately the Tor network is not practical for everyday web use and file downloading by ordinary people.  The Invisible Internet Project (I2P) has built on and improved the Tor methods.

So, if the NSA knows terrorists and criminals use Tor or I2P, then why are governments so obsessed with wide scale internet surveillance that can be easily avoided by those terrorists and criminals?  The only obvious answer is that our governments are interested in surveillance of the online activities of everybody, mostly ordinary people.  Governments want to know who you bank with, who you contact and associate with, what you complain about, when you are active and online and more, all so they can build profiles of you and your network of families, friends and colleagues.  So, if for some reason your government becomes interested in you, they will know more about your activities than even you can remember.

It’s not only governments that use your internet activities to track you and build profiles.  Online corporations are also building profiles to learn as much about you as possible. These profiles are also available to hackers when the security of online corporations are breached.

It’s now essential that you protect your privacy online.  The old wild west internet is dead, and governments and corporations are now tracking your every move.

The simplest and best tools to protect your privacy online is a virtual private network (VPN).  This blog will show you how to find and choose a VPN provider that is right for you.
